Michael L. Childress Announces Candidacy for Re-Election to DuPage County Board
Bloomingdale, IL — DuPage County Board Member Michael L. Childress today announced his candidacy for re-election to represent District 1 on the DuPage County Board. Childress, who began his service in December 2022, has built a record of collaborative leadership and dedication to strengthening the county’s future. His current term concludes on December 7, 2026.
Childress serves as Vice Chair of the DuPage County Board and as Chair of the Public Works Committee. He also contributes his expertise on several key committees, including Economic Development, Finance, Intergovernmental, Judicial and Public Safety, Legislative, and Technology.
“DuPage County is a place of innovation, opportunity, and strong community,” said Childress. “It has been a privilege to serve our residents, and I remain committed to advancing policies that ensure fiscal responsibility, support public safety, promote economic growth, and invest in the infrastructure that keeps our communities thriving.”
Beyond his service on the Board, Childress is the President of the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP and a former Bloomingdale Park District Commissioner. He holds an MBA from DeVry University and resides in Bloomingdale.
With a focus on collaboration and results, Childress looks forward to continuing his work to uphold the high quality of life DuPage County residents expect and deserve.
